For those of you that know us, Rugby League is the game closest to our hearts. We have had season Tickets for the Leeds Rhinos for the best part of 20 years. Unfortunately, we do too much travelling nowadays to have a season ticket but we get to as many games at Headingley, as possible.
Talking of which, we will be at Headingley, or should I say “AMT Headingley Rugby Stadium” for the first game of the season on Friday 16th February – Leeds Rhinos v Salford Red Devils. The season actually kicks off today before with the Hull derby, FC at home to KR.
Ben hasn’t done a rugby league sporting themed stadium map yet but, funnily enough, he has drawn Headingley and the 2 Hull grounds. Headingley has been drawn in his amazing globe style with the skyline of Leeds in the background. The Hull grounds can be found in his spinning spiral take on Hull - it’s landmarks and, most importantly, it’s Pubs!
Hull FC’s home ground MKM Stadium, is due to be drawn soon as a globe - there will be a rugby league and footie version available and an “M62 corridor, all the grounds”, is in the pipeline – hopefully for later this year. We are also thinking about a Wembley Stadium, which, of course, is most famous for the Challenge Cup Final!
